BIODIVERSIFYING
Bioplagicides
Biological control agents or biopesticides are products derived from natural substances, including living organisms, capable of effectively controlling pests and diseases in crops. They are normally classified into four categories:
- Microbials. This category includes living organisms that are either predatory or parasitic in their action against pests, usually insects.
- Macrobials. This category includes virus, bacteria or fungus that work as active ingredients of the biopesticide.
- Natural products. Products within this category include fermentation-based products as well as naturally derived products that have activity against pests and diseases.
- Semiochemicals. This category comprises pheromones that act by modifying insect behavior. These products are used to interfere with insect mating or act as attractants for insect traps.
Biopesticides are the products whose use is prioritized when a cultivation strategy based on Integrated Pest and Disease Control is implemented. They present a good toxicological profile. They show a good toxicological profile and are respectful with the environment, the auxiliary fauna and humans. They are not subject to the Maximum Residue Limit or Safety period. They do not generate residues in food and therefore meet the demands of the food chain.
Biostimulants
Plant biostimulants contain substance(s) and / or microorganisms whose function when applied to plants or to rhizosphere is to stimulate natural processes to enhance/benefit nutrient uptake, nutrient efficiency, tolerance to abiotic stress and crop quality.
The biostimulants act on the physiology of the plant by different modes of action and different ways to improve the vigor of the crop, the yield and the quality of the harvest.
Within this type of substances are included amino acids, humic acids, plant extracts, seaweed extracts and microorganisms.
It should be noted that biostimulants, although they may contain nutrients, should not be considered as fertilizers, since the latter do not activate physiological reactions in the crop. The joint use of fertilizers with biostimulants improves the absorption of the nutrients provided by the fertilizers, achieving a greater and better growth of the crop.
Bionutritionals
At IQV we know that to get a good crop yield and make high profits from the harvest it is necessary to use integrated management. Therefore, besides protecting the crops against external pathogens good nutrition is also necessary. That is why we also have a range of products designed to provide essential elements.
Our range of bionutritional products consists of products formulated specifically to prevent and combat problems caused by the lack of one or more elements necessary for proper vegetative and metabolic development.
This type of substance includes several deficiency correctors formulated with a complexing agent plus a microelement or a macroelement. A good example from our range is the product GLUNATE Cu, a highly efficient copper gluconate obtained from our copper hydroxide complex with gluconic acid.
